BOYSEN NOW 4-0 WITH WIN OVER CASA ELETTRICA, 75-69
Boysen continued its winning ways, coming through in its 4th straight close contest to stay on top of the standings, waylaying Casa Elettrica with a narrow 75-69 victory.
Boysen is now virtually assured of a spot in the final four playoff format in the 2008 ABU Corporate Cup 1st Jam. Casa Elettrica is pushed to the brink with its 3rd straight loss, needing to win its remaining three games to salvage any hope of playing beyond the elimination round.
Roy Punla continued to recapture the form that solidified him as an elite player in ABU, this time scattering 27 points on 10-15 shooting from the field and 7 of 8 from the charity stripe. Punla kept barging inside to troop to the free throw line, once in a while sticking sure jumpers around the perimeter. (more…)

BOYSEN STAVES OFF MOLDEX IN OT, 105-104
Moldex found a way to tie the game in the dying seconds of regulaton play, but came up short of duplicating the feat in the extra period to finally surrender the loss to a very impressive Boysen five, 105-104.
Displaying mental toughness and grit in close games, Boysen is now sitting on a tournament-leading 3-0 win-loss record. This win was the hardest to carve, though.
After going back and forth with Moldex throughout the game, led by Richard Ortiz’ 30 points, 15 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks, Boysen found themselves with a six-point lead with less than a minute remaining. All appeared lost for Moldex until Jeff Uy sank a booming trey to cut the lead to 3 with only 27 seconds remaining. (more…)

BOYSEN OUTLASTS MULTILINE FOR 1ST WIN, 81-78
Exclusive by Epoy Del Rosario.
Boysen had a huge lift from ABU newcomers Roderick Zagala and Jojo Mercado, as well as crucial clutch baskets from beyond the rainbow arc by John Santiago, to stave off Multiline and claim their first win, 81-78.
Mercado was a big factor when Boysen broke away in the 1st half, going 4-of-8 from the floor, sniping from the perimeter to finish with 8 points. Boysen led at the half 44-31, behind a furious assault from Richard Ortiz, Jonathan Galano and Paolo Olan. Ortiz led Boysen with 26 points, 11 rebounds and 3 steals. Galano went for 15 points and 5 rebounds, while Olan put in 8 points, 12 rebounds and 2 steals. The biggest plays, however, came from Zagala and Santiago, who scored most of their points in the waning moments of the game, after Multiline mounted an inspired comeback to briefly take the lead and threaten to steal the game at the 4-minute mark.
